Ancient India was not only a land of sages and seers but also a land of scholars and
scientists. It has been proven that from making the best steel in the world to teaching
the world to count, India was actively contributing to the field of science and
technology centuries before modern laboratories were set up. Kerala, a hub for
Literature, Art,
Culture and all major branches of science like Astrology, Ayurveda, etc has been home to
great mathematicians too. Adi Shankaracharya, one of the greatest Indian Philosophers
was born in Kerala. His works in samskritam concern themselves with establishing the
doctrine of Advaita. Had it not been for Samskritam as a mode of expression, teachings
of Adi Shankaracharya would not have been so interwoven into the fabric of Indian
culture.
In an endeavor to promote and protect the traditional science and culture of the land,
Viswa Samskrita Pratishatanam was founded in the year 1985 as Ernakulam as it's base.
The headquarters was later shifted to Kodungallur in Thrissur District. Vishwa Samskrita
Pratishatanam, The Kerala chapter of Samskrita Bharati spearheads the execution of
all Samskritabharati activities in Kerala.
