     SAMSKRITA  BHARATI

Samskrita Bharati, a non-profit organization, is primarily dedicated to the mission of popularizing and promoting Samskritam as an everyday language, and providing access to its rich and diverse repository of knowledge to all. Millions of Samskritam manuscripts are known to be lying neglected all over India and in several corners of the world, and most of the ancient knowledge is in Samskritam. Yoga, Ayurveda, Bhagavad Gita, Vedantas, Vastu, Jyotisha and much more are all areas of interest to millions of people around the world, and translations of these books are not enough to understand the shastras at the core level. People want to read and understand the texts in their original language. By propagating Samskritam as a spoken language, Samskrita Bharati aims at opening the doors of this vast storehouse of ancient knowledge to all. Samskrita Bharati also aspires to bring together the scattered manuscripts all over the world, and preserve them well for the future generations. The relentless and selfless efforts by Samskrita Bharati has borne fruit in the past few decades. Millions of people now speak the language fluently, in and around the world. This was achieved through Samskrita Bharati's "speak Samskritam in 10 days" camps, initially conducted all over the country and gradually around the world. Samskrita Bharati is a wholly volunteer driven organisation. At a macro level Samskrita Bharati has also been instrumental in working with Governments for the establishment of Samskritam Universities, Samskritam homes around the world and Samskritam villages-where Samskritam is an everyday language. Samskrita Bharati has branches in 19 countries and continues to grow. Apart from the 10 days spoken Samskritam camps Samskrita Bharati boasts of many other activities such as Balakendrams (for children) correspondence courses and much more.

       VISWA SAMSKRITA PRATISHTANAM

Ancient India was not only a land of sages and seers but also a land of scholars and scientists. It has been proven that from making the best steel in the world to teaching the world to count, India was actively contributing to the field of science and technology centuries before modern laboratories were set up. Adi Shankaracharya, one of the greatest Indian Philosophers was born in Kerala. His works in samskritam concern themselves with establishing the doctrine of Advaita. Had it not been for Samskritam as a mode of expression, teachings of Adi Shankaracharya would not have been so interwoven into the fabric of Indian culture.

In an endeavor to promote and protect the traditional science and culture of the land, Viswa Samskrita Pratishatanam was founded in the year 1985 as Ernakulam as it's base. The headquarters was later shifted to Kodungallur in Thrissur District.
